In the nineteen-twenties and thirties, practically every important exhibition in Vienna was supervised by the Erste Wiener-Wach-&Schließgesellschaft. Approximately 300 employees were in charge of guarding the railway service to Trieste and Bozen.
The growing number of assignments demanded increasing quality standards. As a result, the staff members were selected with great care and specialized training was provided.
The enterprise has grown fast. New business sectors have been developed and new businesses have been acquired, including those in Canada and the USA.
Technology is given increasing importance. The “Erste Wiener-Wach-&Schließgesellschaft” developed a new security control system known as GCS which received international recognition.
In 1993 the Erste Wiener-Wach-&Schließgesellschaft became part of the international named Group 4. The quality and variety of our security services have been significantly extended as a result of this merger.
The fusion of Group 4 Falck and Securicor in 2004 created the security company with the largest number of employees worldwide. G4S takes pride in its 530,000 employees working in 115 countries throughout the world.
