Welcome to the Protection Officer Training Academy
Canada’s newest security training facility, the Protection Officer Training Academy, (located in Toronto, Ont.) is accredited by the International Foundation for Protection Officers.
It offers an ongoing comprehensive training curriculum to providers of guarding services in the Greater Toronto Area. We also train new industry recruits and offer employment placement for our graduates with our industry partners.
The IFPO’s Certified Protection Officer course operates as our flagship program. This 40-hour in-class program is registered with the Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) and meets the current federal training requirements.
Additional courses, taught by certified industry specialists, complete the scope of training offered by the Protection Officer Training Academy. These courses include:

- Handcuff Training
- Customer Service
- Crisis Intervention
- Self Defence
- Loss Prevention
- First Aid/CPR
- WHMIS and Health & Safety Certification
