As part of a multi-million pound deal, G4S will provide services to all 400 stations across the country’s rail network.

G4S will transport cash to all manned and unmanned ticket offices, manage all ticket machines, and provide machine maintenance services.

The company already provides manned guarding services to NS across the rail network, employing over 200 staff.

Gert Askes, director, G4S Nederland, says: “This contract is a good example of how clients are increasingly looking to us to deliver an integrated solution that can demonstrate real improvements in efficiency and cost, without disrupting operational processes.

He added: “By strengthening our partnership with NS, we are now in a position to provide a seamless service which will ultimately improve the customer experience.”

The company has been working in partnership with NS since 1999 and will start the new contract on 1 August 2014.
