Video: Government Add this

February, 2010: David Taylor-Smith, Regional President & CEO, UK and Ireland, G4S Secure Solutions, on opportunities for Government outsourcing

Transcript:

The main drivers for government outsourcing in the UK are usually the fiscal or political and in the coming period we expect obviously them to become fiscal as government budgets come under pressure.

G4S has a good range of activities across a number of government departments. Our traditional area of strength has been in justice. We’ve got a good presence in the Department of Work and Pensions, and then a growing strength in health and education and defence, and our aim is to move into government areas where our brand and where our strategy has resonance.

The opportunity for G4S to export government outsourcing skills around the group is first class. The combination of the skills that we have in the UK and then the network we have around the world with country operations is that we use a team in the UK that are now resourced to work with local G4S country operations and then when bids emerge, they can combine skills and work as a joint project team either alone or they find local or international partners.
