G4S acquires Omada Fire and Security Group

G4S plc, the international security solutions group, today announces the acquisition of the manned security and fire suppression businesses of the Irish privately-owned Omada Fire and Security Group (“Omada”) together with 100% of the shares of A.1. Omada and 84.3% of the shares of Bell Communications (the remaining shares of which were already owned by the G4S Group). The total consideration for these acquisitions is approximately £8 million.

This acquisition will position G4S Ireland as the number one player in the manned security marketplace in Ireland and as the second largest in the field of electronic security and monitoring.

Headquartered in Dublin, with operations in Cork and Limerick, Omada offers a complete range of services covering access control, assistance services, building management systems, fire systems, manned security and cash in transit (CIT). Bell Communications provides comprehensive alarm monitoring services and A.1. Omada is an electronic security systems business. The CIT operations of Omada are not being acquired.
