ThruVis will be offered to customers, where appropriate, as part of a package of security measures in nineteen countries where G4S operates. There will also be the potential to include other Digital Barriers technologies where a specific requirement is identified.

G4S Europe CEO, Graham Levinsohn, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer this cutting-edge solution as part of the portfolio of services we provide.

“ThruVis is a product that has capabilities not seen before, that allow the detection under a persons’ clothing of concealed weapons and explosives whilst protecting the privacy of the person.

“The screening process allows the flow of visitors into a large-scale event such as a pop concert, an exhibition, a sporting event or a music festival to continue, without being delayed by security checks. “

ThruVis detects all types of items concealed under clothing, including non-metallics such as explosives and ceramic knives, at distances of up to ten metres. It is mobile, rapidly deployable, and operates without compromising peoples' throughput, safety or privacy.

At the UK Government Security & Policing event in Farnborough in March, ThruVis was part of an official high throughput screening demonstration operated by G4S, where the technology successfully achieved a screening rate of up to 1,000 people per hour at peak times - estimated to be more than five times faster than traditional security lanes.
