Oxfam Trailwalker
For G4S, as the largest employer of Gurkhas in Hong Kong, this trail has special meaning. Not only was it founded by the Queen’s Gurkha Signals Regiment, but it also relies heavily on teamwork as each of the individuals in the team must complete the Trail together. G4S has actively participated in the event since 1999 and have received outstanding results from the first year of participation and raised over HK$660,000 through donations from our kind sponsors as well as staff for Oxfam.
G4S first broke the record in 2003 by winning the Trailwalker competition in 12 hours and 16 minutes, beating the previously held record by 31 minutes. This was an especially proud moment because it was the first time since 1997 that a Gurkha won back first place. Previous to 1997, all the first place winners, save one, were Gurkha teams.
