Nancy Bruetsch
Training Manager, Analytical Services, G4S Wackenhut, USA
Nancy began her security career with The Wackenhut Corporation in 1987 as a Policy and Procedures Writer.
With a Bachelor’s degree in English, she used these skills in HR, security operations and administration. Nancy then moved to Purchasing, where she was asked to apply for government clearance in order to be qualified to work on government contracts.
Little did she know that this would lead to an exciting opportunity to learn how to be an Armed Security Police Officer for the US Department of Energy (DOE), for which she went through 256 hours of training in security operations, tactics, emergency response and firearms.
After four years, Nancy was offered a position as a Training Instructor and was sent to the DOE National Training Centre in New Mexico to take courses on Job Task Analysis, Curriculum Development and Managing a Training Programme. She also went back to school to earn a Master’s degree in Organisational Management.
Nancy eventually took a position as an Instructional Designer at the DOE National Training Center and was given opportunities to attend professional development classes and conferences. Three years ago, she accepted a position as a Training Manager at Wackenhut HQ in Florida, where she applied everything she had learnt about security operations, training and organisational development.
"G4S Wackenhut has given me a great many opportunities to learn new skills, gain new knowledge, live in different places and have a very diverse and satisying career."
