Additional welfare care provided in NAMESA

The NAMESA region - North Africa, Middle East and Southern Asia - is one of the larger of G4S’s regional businesses, comprising 26 countries.  This region has seen rapid growth over the last few years and now has an employee base of over 210,000 staff.  In India alone, G4S has 114,000 employees and is the second largest private employer in the country.

Personnel issues are therefore a top priority in NAMESA to ensure that each of its employee’s welfare is looked after in the best way possible.  Consistency, fairness and equality are top of their welfare agenda.

To ensure this is managed effectively, NAMESA recently appointed a dedicated Welfare Officer for every country in the region. The Welfare Officers are tasked with promoting positive employer-employee relationships that the businesses hope will ultimately result in a higher level of employee morale, motivation and performance.

Zak Parkar, the region’s HR Director commented “We have taken great care to ensure our appointed Welfare Officers are not only in a position to understand employee needs as well as the business expectations.  We have already seen evidence of reduced absenteeism, higher employee retention and happier, more motivated staff.”
