All England Tennis ChampionshipsG4S Security Services (UK) has provided site security for the world's most famous tennis championships, the All England Tennis Championships at Wimbledon in the UK, for the past 20 years.

Each year, G4S advisors assist with planning months before the event kicks off, and front-line G4S employees cover every aspect of security once the tournament is underway.

G4S at the All England Tennis ChampionshipsG4S's Director of Event Security, Paul Bullen, explains "We plan our strategy for an event based on what went well and what needed changing in previous events.

We were planning our strategy for this year even before last year's tournament finished.

"At the same time as organising and planning, we are very aware of changing concerns, new risks and last-minute alterations to arrangements so it is important to be flexible enough to make changes to the plan without compromising security."

With so many visitors over the Wimbledon fortnight, keeping track of who goes in and out of the event is a huge, but vital task.

"Although we have a long history of successfully managing Wimbledon security, we have new methods every year. Also, big stars tend to attract obsesive fans, so it is important to establish players security arrangements to ensure they are safe."

This summer G4S used a combination of new recruits and experienced officers to patrol the event. The teams took care of everything from crowd control and bag searches to helping visitors with mobility problems.		G4S - Officers at Wimbledon

G4S Event Security


Watsons Water Ladies Tennis Championships


With a team of some 20 security officers, G4S Security Services (Hong Kong) provides security expertise for the annual Watsons Water Ladies Championships, a four day Wimbledon style event.

During their duties they will provide entrance control, wristband application, bag checks, close protection (against autograph hunters) , on-court security, assistance in event management and evictions.

Close protection officers receive special training and all officers are given site familiarisation and details of practice procedures.

Proximus Diamond Games Tennis Tournament


In Belgium, the Diamond Security Company, part of G4S Security Services (Belgium), is responsible for security including parking, VIPs, and players at the Proximus Diamond Games Tennis Tournament.
