Happy Day

This Happy Day, G4S made a difference to 10,000 children at 64 locations across 27 countries of North Africa, Middle East and Southern Asia. The Day was celebrated with different themes like Dreamland, Fairyland, Green World, White World, Clowns, Wonderland and Looney Tunes Characters.

Toy train, bouncy castles, hoopla games, joyrides, streamers, balloons, caterpillar ride, ice-cream parlour, pastas, sandwiches, pizzas, cakes, burgers, dry fruits, chips, patties, pastries, spring rolls, croquettes, sweets, chocolates, milk shakes and juices! It was all for our little guests.
A Happy vibe was created for children in sync with the theme of respective locations. The region invited more than 10,000 children with special needs as well as HIV infected, orphaned, disadvantaged and underprivileged children from established NGOs and charity organisations.
Every country in the region planned the day with various fun filled activities like joyrides, puppet shows, magic shows, singing and dancing competitions, face painting, card making, quiz competition, juggling, tug of war, lemon and spoon race, nail art, games stalls and games specifically designed for children with special needs. Our little guests at New Delhi Happy Day were entertained with the theme of “Aladdin & Djinn”. Children were welcomed with a shower of rose petals into an Arabic style entry arch. The Arabian set-up, joyrides, toy train, columbus and caterpillar ride, bouncy castles, hoopla games and streamers created a mood befitting the “Happy Day”.
G4S Executives, each dressed as “Aladdin” or “Jasmine” interacted with children. The internal Choir Group, “G4S Chimes” sang songs for the children. They all loved the “Aladdin Skit” performed by G4S family members. Adding to the joy of children was a 15 ft. tall inflated “Djinn” with whom they clicked lots of pictures.
On this occasion, Mr. David I. Hudson, MBE, Regional President, G4S NAMESA announced Scholarships for ten underprivileged children for a period of five years. These children have so far been living with their mothers in Delhi Jail Crèche (also supported by G4S).  With the aid of these scholarships, the future of these children will be steered in a positive direction. As a message to the Region, Mr. Hudson said, "This is the day that G4S has dedicated to help those children who are less privileged than we are. It is a day given with one clear simple objective, to bring little fun to their lives and smile to their face and then, we will feel generously rewarded”. With the Happy Day celebrations, G4S succeeded in touching the lives of these little ones yet again, with a view to make them realize that the world truly is a wonderful place. It is an exciting opportunity for G4S to invest towards our future generations. Regional Marketing Director, Ms. Rehana Qureshi as the main Happy Leader said, “Happy Day was initiated to bring smiles to the underprivileged children. However, it has brought team spirit within G4S family as well. I personally felt spiritually uplifted after spending a day with these underprivileged children who do not get to laugh very often.” May every Happy Day continue to bring joy and happiness to the underprivileged and children with special needs!
