The Luxembourg subsidiary of Group 4 Securitas was founded in 1971 under the name "Securitas - Société de Surveillance et de Sécurité S.A." by the swedish group Securitas AB. With the break-up of the swedish group in 1981, Group 4 Securitas acquired control of the Luxembourg company, but it was decided that the well-known name, Securitas S.A., would be kept.

In the early 80s, Securitas bought Security Technology, which was renamed Securitas Technologies Luxembourg S.à r.l. where the business-focus was the installation and management of security systems, while Securitas S.A. was providing security services such as guards and cash transfer.

On May 2nd, 2000, Group 4 Securitas and the danish company Falck agreed on the terms of a merger creating Group 4 Falck, a global leader in the sector.

As a result of the worldwide merger between Group 4 Falck and Securicor, the luxemburgish companies changed their denomination to G4S Security Services S.A. and G4S Technologies S.à r.l. in April 2006.

Today, the two Luxembourg-based companies are employing a total workforce of around 1250. They are part of the top 20 employers in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
