G4S and its subsidiary Parcon support and advice governmental organisations. The staff at G4S and Parcon operate in the public domain, where they handle surveillance and ensure that regulations are adhered to. For example, they may work as street or parking wardens. Some may have the authority to conduct investigations, such as Buitengewoon Opsporings Ambtenaar (BOA) (Special Investigations Officers). These specialists also work as supervisors or ticket inspectors on public transport or as guards of detainees and detention cells. Finally, municipal councils can call on Parcon to enforce environmental regulations or to man and manage public parking garages.
