Non-emergency patient transport

We have extensive experience of transporting large numbers of patients between numerous locations against tight deadlines and every day we undertake thousands of such movements.

We are now the largest private sector operator of ambulances in the UK, where we work for a number of NHS hospital Trusts, and in Australia, where we operate on behalf of the public sector ambulance service.

Our expertise with people, transportation and vehicle design enables us to provide safe, comfortable and punctual round the clock transport services for patients of all mobility levels. Our primary objectives are to provide a service that is demonstrably better than that which existed before and to delight patients with the quality of our care.

We currently provide over 500,000 patient journeys per year with fleets of specially-constructed ambulances and teams of motivated staff operating from well-equipped control rooms. We use highly efficient IT software to book and plan the patient journeys. Our approach provides detailed statistics and management information which we share with our customers. Our management information systems enable us to monitor as well as report upon our service quality and create continuously improving performance.

We invest heavily in appropriate training, equipment and new air-conditioned ambulances for each contract to enable our people to provide excellent service in a friendly environment.

Our contract with Barking, Havering & Redbridge NHS Hospitals Trust to deliver non-emergency patient transport services commenced in 2003. The contract involves over 100,000 patient journeys per annum for patients living within a twenty-mile radius of the hospital sites.

Other non-emergency patient transport contracts awarded to us include:

Our patient transport service customer care policy is to deliver patients on time and without detriment to their medical conditions. We enable patients to maintain their dignity and carry them in comfort. At all times, we pay due regard to the care and well-being of our passengers.

In September 2007, we achieved the British Safety Council (BSC) Five Star standard for our non-emergency patient transport services.
