Welfare to Work
G4S has successfully pre qualified to bid to become a Prime Contractor for The Department of Work and Pensions Flexible New Deal Phase 2. Flexible New Deal (FND) is part of the Government’s modernisation of the Jobseekers Regime and the New Deal. FND aims to assist job seekers who have been unemployed over 12 months into sustained employment.
We believe strongly in the importance of employment to individuals, to local communities, to regional and national economies. We are committed to helping more people into work through:
- Delivering Jobcentre Plus and DWP Welfare to Work programmes
- Developing ethical Employment Partnerships at a local level
- Providing care and education to children and adults
- Operating a National Training Academy to Security Industry Authority accreditation standards
We provide a range of support programmes aimed at assisting offenders and young people into sustainable employment and improving their life prospects. These services operate in partnership with specialist agencies and include vocational skills training and qualifications, job preparation, job brokerage, employer liaison, peer support and mentoring. Each year we work with over 100,000 offenders and young people in partnership with 150 voluntary, community and training organisations.

Screening and vetting
Based on our extensive experience of screening and vetting all our employees in-house, we are now able to offer the same high-quality service to safeguard our customers’ interests. We can provide accurate information and impartial expert advice about people you need to rely on, whether permanent or temporary employees, job applicants, agency or contract staff and even sub-contractors. We help you to control your "people risks", offering you assurance that all reasonable steps are taken to ensure that people really are who and what they say they are. Training
We take the training of our employees very seriously, recognising that they are the public face of G4S interacting with our customers and the public every day. That is why we deliver all induction and skills training internally to ensure that all our employees learn to live our values. Our recently opened Training Academy is a state-of-the-art facility that will become our centre of excellence for security training.
For our customers, we offer teams of professional, experienced trainers, consultants and administrators to manage the design and delivery of training to their staff.
