September 2008

In the weeks leading up to Beijing I was focused on only one thing – the Olympic Games. My preparation was crucial and every training session counted. I attended a training camp for three weeks in Kunming to help focus my mind and to work on my technique, endurance and speed. In the lead up to the Olympics I was interviewed by many people, all of which were keen to hear about how I was feeling and how excited I was.

The Olympics was absolutely amazing and a completely new experience for me. It was unlike any event I have ever been to before. The whole environment was so new to me that it was hard to adjust and focus on my race as usual. But I went out and I did my very best which is all I can ask for. My trip to Beijing was a real eye opener for me and will definitely help me to prepare for London 2012 and manage my expectations.

Since returning from Beijing I have taken a month off to recover and give my back a rest, following my injury earlier in the year. During my time off I went to London for the G4S photographic exhibition, which was great! It was really good to see some of my G4S 4teen team mates and hear all about their experiences in Beijing. After this month I will start training again for the next National Swim Meet in December, which will be my first post Olympic race. The focus then will be to rebuild my muscles and strengthen my back. I am looking forward to getting some quality training in over the next month.

I will keep you updated with all my news,

Nimitta

February 2008

I had some bad news I discovered that my L5 vertebrae in my spine is cracked so, the doctor has recommended for me to have a break for 3 months.

Because of this, I have not done any competitions in this month; I am just concentrating on the next events in April and May.

I have attended in Olympic training camp at the Sport Authority of Thailand that is preparing athletes for Olympic Games 2008.Then my main focus will be to increase the quantity of training as I am looking forward to the Olympic trial competition in Hong Kong, China.
