September 2008

I haven’t had any major competitions recently so it has given me some time to focus on my training. I have also been working on my studies as my end of year exams are in November and I need to start revising. My school sports day is also coming up on 7th November where I will be competing in the 10,000m and the 5,000m, it should be a fun day and I think Carlos, my contact from G4S is coming to watch and support!

This month my training programme is going to be evaluated by a professional trainer. It will be analysed and they will offer suggestions as to how to build on what I am already doing and what areas I need to work on to achieve better results. I am excited to see what they say about my training and the advice they give me. In December I will be working with the G4S Kenya CSR programme to help launch their voluntary project, which I’m really looking forward to!

February 2008

I have some good news to share with you, this month I took part in the national cross country championships in Kenya, I needed to do well at this to qualify for the national team and I did, and I came 5th. It was my first competition in the senior category and now I will be going to the World Cross Country Championships in Edinburgh, Scotland at the end of this month, I am very excited.

I had my birthday this month and for this occasion I had a birthday cake, this was the first that has ever been given to me, it was from Carlos at G4S and I would like to thank him for this as it will be a memory I will never forget.
