It’s been such a fantastic day, how many people can say they have trained with Haile in these beautiful mountains and at the gym that he owns. It’s really nice for me because, although Haile is not a sprinter, he knows so much about training so he was showing me new exercises and routines with the weights and I learnt so much. He is such a great person to be with, always happy and so welcoming. I enjoyed the filming too, it is for an international TV programme so people in my country will be able to see it and what I did out here.
It feels very strange when we walk around the city and everybody comes to shake Haile’s hand, he is very famous and everyone has so much respect for him, I feel proud that he is my mentor when I see this. I’m really looking forward to tomorrow and seeing Obinna. I have a feeling I will never forget this trip.
January 2009
I travelled from Senegal this month to join 4teen members from the African region for the first G4S 4teen regional training camp in Kenya. It was a great opportunity for me to spend time with 4teen team members and share my experiences and stories since being away in Senegal.
