Zodwa has been playing table tennis since she was 12 years old when she was recognised by the South African Table Tennis Board (SATTB) as a player of immense potential.  Zodwa returned from the 2007 All African Games having gained invaluable experience playing in a senior tournament. She put the experience to good use the following year by winning the African Under 21 Cup and South African Junior Championships, and finishing 2nd in the Team event at the World Championships in China.

Achievements:

  • 2008 World Championships, China - 2nd, Team event
  • 2008 African u/21 Cup, Congo - 1st, singles, 2nd, doubles, Ranked 13th in Africa
  • 2008 South African Junior Championships- 1st, Singles, 1st, Team event
Sporting Ambition:

To qualify for the Olympic Games in London and win South Africa’s first ever Olympic table tennis medal.

April 2009

After having a really amazing time with my G4S 4teen African athletes in Kenya I returned home and have been busy with training and competitions. I’ve also been taking part in some G4S events visiting some community projects they support.
