G4S Botswana is proud to be the main sponsor of the Gaborone Rugby Club. G4S Botswana’s main involvement with the Gaborone Rugby Club is to provide them with players’ kits, with the G4S logo on it.
When the Gaborone Rugby Club hosts any games or tournaments, G4S is also invited to advertise the company through numerous means. These include the G4S logo on the player kits, a permanent advertising board, and further advertisements during special events.
In addition, all e-mails that circulate within the Gaborone Rugby Club have the G4S logo at the bottom as the main sponsor.
Affectionately known as the Gabrone Hogs, the club has a stonghold on rugby in Botswana. The Gaborone Rugby Club is allegedly the oldest rugby club in Botswana and has made significant contributions to the sport. The team provides many of the national players as well as hosting national training sessions. In 2006, the club became league champions and were crowned the St Louis Cup Winners for 2006.
The club chairman, Luke Richards said, "We are very grateful to G4S for their support and look forward to ensuring that their investment is realised by having a successful season."
Although this is G4S Botswana’s only official partnership, attempts are being made to bridge a further relationship with the Botswana Golf Union, cementing G4S’s role as a provider of local sports development programs.
