Sponsorship Overview
After a successful partnership ahead of the 2008 Beijing Olympics we are delighted to be renewing our ongoing allegiance with the British Sailing Team, Skandia Team GBR, for a further four years.
As well as reinforcing our commitment to the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) we are individually supporting two 49er boats as they set out on their 2012 Olympic campaign. G4S’s Stevie Morrison and Ben Rhodes, have been joined by Peter Greenhalgh and Chris Draper in the 49er class who will also be backed by G4S. We are proud to be associated with these sailors and believe the symbiotic relationship between us and the UK’s most consistently successful Olympic sport to continue to be as impressive as it has already shown to be.

Do we just sponsor the top sailors in the team?
- No, we support all sailors from the transitional squads right through to the elite Olympic sailors including Paralympic squads too.
What is a 49er boat?:
- The 49er is a newer one-design class of small sailing dinghy. It is a double handed twin trapeze boat, meaning that it is sailed by a helm and a crew, the helm making many tactical decisions, as well as steering, and the crew doing most of the sail control. The 49er is known as the Ferrari of the sailing world
Who are G4S’s 49er sailors?
Where will we see our brand on the boats?
- On 49er boats the G4S brand will appear on the sails and spinnaker as well as sailors clothing. On STGBR boats it will appear on the sails and clothing only
How will we be hearing from the sailors throughout the sponsorship?
