FOR (Focus on Resettlement) is an innovative resettlement initiative within the prison system, focusing on cognitive motivational techniques. Our programme was the only one in the UK to score 100% in a Home Office audit in 2005. Our FOR team are ambassadors for the international development of the programme and are the only ones to have successfully piloted FOR with convicted sex offenders.
TSS (Transitional Support Scheme) supports short sentence prisoners (less than 12 months) resettling in Wales. The scheme focuses on those offenders with a history of substance or alcohol misuse, who are not subject to statutory supervision on release. We have a team of mentors, drawn from a wide range of professional backgrounds, to motivate and support participants to access drug agencies, tackle relationship problems, organise housing and to improve their employment prospects once released. The Scheme has recently been recognised by the Howard League for Penal Reform for its outstanding work and received a Community Programme Award in July 2006
We provide the Criminal Justice Integrated Team (CJIT) provision of the Drug Intervention Programme for the Swansea Area. The DIP is a Government Initiative aimed at illicit drug users, which aims to reduce offending, re-offending and the associated harm to individuals, their families and the wider community. Within the Swansea Area Criminal Justice Integrated Team we have a Team Manager, Caseworkers, Healthcare representatives, mentors, and peer group support workers (including volunteers). The programme aims to provide seamless support for substance mis-users who find themselves within the Criminal Justice System and for those who may be at risk of offending.
