IBM/Johnson Controls
Following a review of the responses they received, Johnson Controls recommended a change of supplier to G4S Security Services (UK). They were impressed with the commitment from G4S’ Board level downwards to the integration of security solutions to achieve best practice and cost leadership.
Virgin Atlantic
G4S Security Services (UK) has worked with Virgin Atlantic since 2003, providing security for the Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester airport. Building on this existing relationship, G4S won the contract to provide security for five further Virgin Atlantic sites based around Crawley, West Sussex. The contract started on 9 January 2006.
Bridgnorth Aluminium
In 2003 new investment and changes in business plans resulted in Bridgnorth's two sites becoming independent, and the standard of the security cover was not regarded as sufficient or to the required standard for Bridgnorth Aluminium Ltd. Bridgnorth therefore decided to search the market for a security company that shared their beliefs, who were capable of meeting their high demands and who could advise and support them on security matters.
Northern Rail
G4S Security Services (UK)’s original agreement commenced in April 2001 with First North Western Trains, with a team of 30 full time security officers carrying out revenue protection duties at Manchester Piccadilly Station. Due to the success of the operation in gaining ticket revenue that would otherwise have been lost, the agreement has progressively expanded over the years.
Eldon Garden Shopping Centre
G4S Security Services (UK) has been supplying security services to Eldon Garden Shopping Centre since October 2004, managing core requirements to this distinguished shopping centre located in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne. In June 2005, the contract was expanded to incorporate an extension of the centre.
Dover Harbour Board
G4S Security Services (UK) has worked with Dover Harbour Board since February 2004. The Port of Dover is one of the country's leading cruise ports and handles an average of 140 ship visits a year. Services that G4S provides for the contract include baggage checking and handling, passenger screening, passenger services, morring assistance, stores and cargo loading.
Manchester City Council - Security services contract
In 2002, Manchester City Council tendered their requirements for security services out to the private sector. The centralised requirements included the Authority's own incident response service and all contracted guarding that had previously been managed across 15 different contract guarding companies and their associated end users.
