HM Prison &Young Offenders' Institution Parc is located in Bridgend, South Wales, and was the first prison to open its doors in the UK under the Government's Private Finance Initiative (PFI).  We played a leading role in the development of this innovative project and have a 25-year operating contract to manage the prison on behalf of the Prison Service. The prison employs over 580 members of staff, (excluding subcontractors), many of whom are recruited from the local area. HMP &YOI Parc was awarded Investors in People status in 2002.

The 1200  bed Category B Local prison opened in November 1997 and accommodates convicted male adult prisoners and remand / convicted young offenders and young people in a secure but modern environment. The innovative design of the prison means that natural light is maximised throughout, and the residential areas feel open and spacious. We provide a progressive environment dedicated to reducing re-offending, and enabling individuals to fulfil their potential back in their local community.

The safety and security of the public, staff and offenders is of paramount importance in our facilities.  We encourage an atmosphere of decency and humanity, which creates a relaxed yet controlled environment with a high level of positive engagement between staff and offenders. We provide a range of progressive offending behaviour and substance misuse programmes, which enable offenders to tackle the causes of their criminal behaviour.

Parc offers a progressive and challenging regime in a modern environment. A range of activities aims to equip offenders with the key skills necessary to reduce the risk of re-offending after release.
