At G4S we have built a guarding and security services business on the strengths of the British Army’s elite Gurkha soldiers. Formed in 2007, G4S Gurkha Services provides managed teams of Gurkha officers for a range of high-end and critical security locations and tasks:

• Training support and security for the Ministry of Defence, including pre-deployment training for the British Army’s operational deployment, as well as manned guarding of military facilities
• Protection of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) locations, including power stations, nuclear facilities, and communications and technology hubs
• Security for commercial high-threat facilities, and those businesses for whom the highest levels of security is a business imperative.

G4S Gurkha Services is run by former British Army Gurkha officers with many years of practical operational experience. This unique management structure has a distinctive philosophy based on the Gurkha ethos of pride, discipline and respect. These attributes produce very low turnover, operational continuity and exceptional pride and professionalism.

G4S Gurkhas are always selected for their intelligence, language ability and adaptability. This enables us to select the appropriate person for close protection, detention and escort, manned guarding, patrol and response, training and front of house duties. We can also call on our unrivalled structure and resources across the G4S business UK and worldwide.

What is a Gurkha?

Gurkhas are always smart, always courteous, always on time.

Gurkhas are soldiers from the elite Gurkha regiments of the British Army. Over 200 years ago the British Army recognised the fighting prowess of these Nepali hill men and formed an alliance that lasts to this day. Famed for their bravery in battle, self-discipline and loyalty, Gurkhas have served with distinction in every conflict in all branches of the British Army from Logistics to Special Forces. Selection for the Gurkhas is fierce; only the fittest, strongest and most highly motivated are selected for the Regiment, with over 90% of applicants being rejected.
