G4S Wackenhut Goes Green with New Paperless Security Device
Security industry leader G4S Wackenhut joins the Green Movement with the introduction of SECURE TRAX™, a powerful new technologically-advanced tool used to conduct remote security functions, all from the palm of a security officer's hand.Secure Trax™ is a state-of-the-art security management and administration application utilizing hardened PDA units that are fully integrated security solutions, built upon the latest mobile computing technology. The unit provides detailed and reliable incident notification in real-time. Secure Trax™ earned top honors in 2009 as "Product of the Year" in the handheld devices category at GOVSEC, the annual government security expo and conference.
Now The Business Journal is honoring G4S Wackenhut as a nominee for the Annual Green Business Award, because of the in-house designed and implemented Secure Trax™ device.
"Secure Trax™ replaces numerous paper systems that we have in place and is linked to our paperless client portal," says Toni Palmer, Manager of Business Development for G4S Wackenhut. "The technology replaces sign-in sheets, incident reports, and facility inspection reports, among other things."
Secure Trax™ is a state-of-the-art tool that was conceptualized and developed entirely by G4S Wackenhut. The company's Custom Protection Officer® personnel can access applications for Automated Check In/Check Out verification, GPS Tracking with geo-fencing functionality, real-time incident notification and -- using magnetic reader technology -- tour watch needs. The unit also serves as a mobile communications device, with cell phone service, push-to-talk capability, text messaging and a panic alarm notification. A customized safety inspection application is also available, enabling timely review with reports sent electronically to the right individuals or departments. Mass communication is easy with enhanced e-mail capabilities.
