The background process is conducted in two phases including an identity verification and credit report. Upon successful completion of the initial check, the background investigation process continues with more detailed research including: employment and Education Verification, Criminal Records Check and Driver’s License Check
Applicants that satisfy Wackenhut’s adjudication requirements for the background investigation elements in phase one, move to the following additional screening as required by the officers service level including: Drug Screen, Physical Examination , Psychological Examination and/or Suitability/Trustworthiness Assessment .
The advanced Background Investigation System is closely integrated with the Human Resource (HR) System. A background investigation for a security officer must first be initiated before the HR system will allow the candidate to be hired or placed on a post. The completed background investigation is electronically stored and is maintained as an element of the employee’s HR record, providing a verifiable audit trail to assure compliance with customer background requirements. Unlike other security companies. Wackenhut does not utilize contingent background approvals, temporarily employing and assigning officers while waiting on the results of the investigation. All officers must pass the investigation including returning employees.
