Industrial Case Study

A publicly traded food production company with plants across the U.S. was dissatisfied with the performance of their in-house security force, stating: “The criteria and parameters set forth to affect our group-wide security upgrade were not implemented by some of our facilities, resulting in those in-house security departments remaining far below our standards regarding program quality and professionalism.”

The client stated their program was not living up to company expectations, as security was not their core business. Past experience with contract security providers that provided “untrained, unmotivated people usually of somewhat questionable character, rarely in possession of any security skills” had made the client reluctant to outsource.

Upon introduction to Wackenhut's Custom Protection Officer® program, the client stated they were “cautiously optimistic and pleasantly surprised” with the hiring criteria and commitment to quality. The Wackenhut team surveyed each location and designed a safety and loss prevention program focused on offering consistent levels of service at each of the company’s facilities and plants.

During the first year of utilizing Wackenhut’s CPOs, annual shrinkage was reduced by more than ninety percent. The client has continued to add additional sites that have each experienced similar results.

“Your full-service way of doing business and the freely offered and provided value-added services are truly unique to the industry; and quite honestly, very refreshing.” – Security Director Professionalism with Integrity
