Zodwa Maphanga is one of the G4S 4teen who is receiving immense support and encouragement through the sponsorship of G4S which commenced in 2006 to realise her dream of being the internationally recognised best table tennis player.

Zodwa 16 years old hails from Pretoria and resides in Atteridgeville, one of the biggest townships in Pretoria. She has won two silver medals in the table tennis single and double tournaments at the Zone 6 games which include some African countries.

With the assistance from the African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC), G4S South Africa chose an athlete that will act as an ambassador for our country. This is with the hope that she will win an Olympic medal in the 2012 Olympic Games.

In May, Zodwa was selected by the committee to be amongst the athletes that are taking part in the All Africa Games. This shows that not only G4S identified her as the best athlete in her team, but SASCOC also has faith in her ability to bring the gold home,” said MD Koos Schoonbeek.

“We are indeed delighted that Zodwa was selected as she is an exceptionally bright and confident young lady with huge potential to achieve both in life skills and in the sports world,” said Koos.
