Court Security

Our team at Court Services Victoria keep courts and tribunals and the people who attend them safe, secure and orderly. Our employees provide customer service to court users, conduct x-ray screening and assist with site monitoring. They ensure reception and checkpoints are secure and operate control rooms with security management systems.

  • Our 370 Court Security Officers provide security at more than 70 courts and tribunals in Metropolitan and Regional Victoria.
  • There is more than 650 km between Orbost, a small country court in East Gippsland and Mildura, a busy court in a major regional hub. The distance from Orbost to Mildura is almost double the distance between Paris and London.
  • Employees are authorised under the Court Security Act 1980 to undertake their role.
