Delivering Quality Cash-In-Transit Services
THE CHALLENGES: OVERVIEW
One of G4S’s customers is a banking institution head quartered in Accra. Since it began operations 5 years ago, this bank has grown to include multiple branches across the 16 regions of Ghana.
There had been several attacks on cash-in- transit vans throughout the country, so the issue of safety was a high priority. In the past, this customer had used soft-skin vans for their cash-in-transit operations, which were susceptible to possible robbery attacks.
The customer needed a reliable security provider who would be able to assist them in moving cash between their bank branches using a fleet of armoured vehicles.
THE GOALS
The regulator, Bank of Ghana, announced a directive that all cash-in-transit services must be run with Armoured Vans. Compliance was, therefore, essential to the customer’s business operations and the safety of their staff.
Our goal was to provide them with an armoured vehicle fleet that would not just meet the regulatory requirements, but would also be attractive, professional and efficient. With over 100 branches across Ghana, the services supplied needed to be robust enough to cover the needs of this customer in a timely and effective manner.
THE SOLUTIONS
A custom solution was designed, providing the customer with the armoured vehicles they needed to transport cash safely between branches. The vans were high quality and well-reinforced, with B6 armour on the passenger side and B4 armour for the vaulting section.
The vans were not only robust, safe and secure, they were also aesthetically pleasing. This meant that the fleet also contributed to the positive public image of the brand, creating a reliable and professional impression everywhere they went.
THE RESULTS
The high-quality armoured vehicles provided by G4S, each with specially trained drivers, were highly effective in addressing the risks to the cash-in-transit operations faced by this bank.
As a result, the customer was able to achieve regulatory compliance and also enjoy a significant increase in the daily cash inflows to their nominated branches. They will also be able to trust that any cash will be delivered quickly, safely and securely, without the risk of attacks or theft.
