Banking on Reliable Security
THE CHALLENGES: OVERVIEW
The customer is one of the largest financial institutions in the world, offering support to the development of the UAE’s private sector. The bank has 29 branches in the UAE alone and is expanding to over 19 countries all over the world.
These bank locations are in continuous operation throughout the day, catering to the needs of their customers. Therefore, any security systems would need to be seamless and non-intrusive so as not to disrupt the customer experience. Plus, installation of security systems for a financial institution such as this requires awareness of the industry safety rules and regulations.
They were seeking a security company capable of providing them with a solution they could scale across all branches. After tough competition, the customer chose G4S to implement the security systems upgrade.
THE GOALS
The goal for this project was to provide this customer with a security system that would meet the high standards associated with their brand and comply with UAE regulations. While developing a plan for this installation, G4S not only considered the safety of the account holder’s money, but also the security inside the bank.
The aim was also to design a system that could be easily adopted by the user in each bank location. This would allow the changes to be implemented widely across all branches and adjusted as needed.
THE SOLUTION
Here are the solutions used to solve the security needs of this customer across multiple bank branches:
- Installed more than 1,600 IP Surveillance Cameras and 1,400+ Access Control System Doors in the existing branches.
- Integrated all cameras and access control system doors with the Centralised Security Control Room. This allowed security personnel to monitor all branches from one location and spot any risks or incidents more easily.
- Equipped the Head Office with an Automatic Number Plate Recognition System, Bollards and a Visitor Management System. This allowed for better control of who was entering and exiting the premises.
THE RESULTS
Due to the scalability and flexibility of the technology implemented, the customer was able to improve security across all their existing branches. The Head Office has become a well-functioning security hub where they could benefit from increased visibility of all locations.
As well as meeting all government regulations and safety rules, the quality of service at this customer’s locations has also improved. Account holders now enjoy a more secure and smoothly operated banking experience.
