Since 1995 G4S Ordnance Management (OM) has successfully completed numerous projects for a wide range of clients, encompassing various post-conflict theatres of operations in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle-East and the Far-East; including major global donor/funding agencies such as the World Bank, the European Union and the International Trust Fund as well as United Nations (UN) agencies. We have also worked for government departments and commercial clients in a number of countries and supported Peacekeeping Organisations.

In Africa, G4S OM has delivered projects since 2002. This includes the successful delivery of important UN projects in South Sudan, Mali and Côte d'Ivoire . Our experience in South Sudan has been ongoing since 2006, giving us extensive experience delivering specialist operations in all corners of the country. Some of our specialist work in South Sudan includes Survey, Demining and Ground Preparation; Demining and Mechanical Capacity with Survey, Clearance and Mechanical Capacity Rapid Deployment of Mine Action Support Teams (MAST) and Integrated Clearance Capacity Multi-Task Teams.
Our experience
Our existing in-country management team, coupled with the mitigating measures we have introduced and the knowledge we have gathered from our lessons learnt allow our experienced project teams to hit the ground running from the very outset of the project mobilisation.
Demining
Mali
Our OM service in Mali
G4S OM have been operational in Mali since March 2016, contracted to the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) to deliver Explosive Threat Mitigation training/mentoring and first aid training, as directed by UNMAS (United Nations Mine Action Service).
The main aim of the contract is to train United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) in the planning and conduct of IED Threat Mitigation (TM) Search procedures. This aim is accomplished by providing training courses which encompass all levels within MINUSMA, from Senior officer to private soldier.
Operational mentoring
Courses are conducted at Unit locations throughout Mali which can provide a logistical challenge. At Company level, after training Unit Commanders and Search Teams, instructors deploy with units for a four week period of operational mentoring, conducting operations throughout Mali. Additional to the IED TM Instructors are three medical instructors who provide battlefield life saving medical training for MINUSMA.
