New Delhi/Gurgaon, July 8th, 2010: G4S INDIA, the largest private security solutions group in the country has been at the forefront on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at enriching the society in which it operates. In its endeavour to address global environmental, social and economic challenges and to provide equal opportunity to underprivileged local community joined MISS UNIVERSE, STEFANIA FERNANDEZ.

The company supported the social cause of ‘SAVE THE GIRL CHILD’ and ‘AIDS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN’ with Miss Universe and Sanjana Jon. These enterprising social welfare measures received a big boost with Miss Universe’s enthusiastic participation well supported by G4S India.

Talking about G4S commitment to the CSR initiatives, Ms. Rupal Sinha, Regional Managing Director, Indian Sub Continent said, “In the race to achieve business goals in these turbulent times, it is easy for an organization to lose sight of its responsibilities towards society. Supporting community development initiatives is an integral part of our business philosophy. We not only involve ourselves in community development directly, but also encourage employees and NGOs to partner with us to make a difference. We are happy to collaborate with Miss Universe in this noble cause.”

Miss Universe attached deep importance to these social causes and visited the corporate office of G4S India at Gurgaon, where she met with NGOs like Hope Foundation and Navjyoti and addressed a press conference.

Another glorifying initiative of G4S India this year had been to make education and knowledge pivotal to its community project and in this connection started “G4S Shiksha” – a school in NCR that provides free education to over 100 underprivileged children. This project further aims at discouraging child labour and other unethical activities like drug addiction, gambling, crime etc and at the same time encourage female child education.

During her visit to G4S India, Miss Universe planted a tree which is part of G4S India’s ‘Go Green’ initiative.
