European Business Group releases 2016 edition of Position Paper

The European Business Group (EBG), representative body of European business interests in India, released the 2016 edition of their Position Paper in the capital recently. This Position Paper, which highlights EBG’s views on policy, is the body’s main tool for advocacy with its stakeholders. It was jointly released by Shri Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Railways, Shri Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, Shri Ramesh Abhishek, Secretary, DIPP and H.E Mr. Tomasz Kozlowski, Ambassador of the European Union to India.

 

India’s biggest security solutions company, G4S India, has once again associated itself with the release of the paper. “Our main interest is to support an endeavour that enables proactive dialogue between the private security sector and decision makers from the Indian government, that generates solutions for the security industry and addresses its needs,” remarked Ms. Rupan Sidhu, Director – Corporate Affairs, G4S India.

While delivering the key note address, Shri Amitabh KantCEO, NITI Aayog said, "European companies have played a significant role in the growth of the Indian economy. It's been estimated that 19 per cent of the total FDI flow into the country was from the European Union. The Indian growth story is very intimately linked to its trade relations with the European Union."

H.E. Mr. Tomasz Kozlowski, Ambassador of the European Union to India, shared his observations, “The EBG position paper comes at a very important time in Europe India relations. Economic and trade relations have been identified as areas of thrust. The new government in India has given the economy an impetus.”
