EBG Federation Releases 2017 Edition of Position Paper

The EBG Federation (erstwhile European Business Group - EBG), the representative body of European business interests in India, released the 2017 edition of Position Paper in the capital recently. The paper was released by Mr. Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog; Mr. Arvind Gupta, Head of Digital India Foundation and Head of BJP IT Cell; Mr. Atul Chaturvedi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry; Anup Wadhawan, Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce and senior representatives from EBG and G4S. The Position Paper is EBG's main tool for advocacy with its stakeholders which highlights the EBG's views on government policies.

Mr. Raman Sidhu, Chairman-EBG Foundation India said, "It's a pleasure to see the commitment of all the EBG members to support the cause of strengthening the business relationship between India and the European companies. The new Position Paper aims to address the issues faced by the industry in India."

Highlighting the significance of trade relationship between India and Europe, Mr. Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, said, "Europe is very important and significant for India. It (Europe) has contributed in India's journey to become a manufacturing hub for the world. We have a history of successful business relationship." 

Present at the occasion, Mr. Claude Allain, President Middle East & India, G4S expressed, "India is one of the fastest growing economy in the world and provides huge business opportunities in different sectors. We support this endeavor of EBG to enable proactive dialogue between multi-national corporates in India and the decision makers from the Government. As G4S, we believe that a proactive dialogue with the policy makers will help us find solutions for the sector issues."
