Canadian international airport chooses G4S for security

G4S has won a five-year contract to provide security services at Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Canada.

G4S will provide security for the Airport Authority’s Operations Centre, on-site uniformed security personnel at various locations, parking and curbside services, daily patrol, fixed post and other related duties. G4S supplies all security labour, training, management, scheduling and supervision for the contract.

G4S Canada CEO Peter Panaritis said: “I am pleased to be working with the Halifax International Airport Authority to help secure this vital transport link in Canada. We recognise the importance of a balance between a high-level security presence and first class customer service.”
G4S delivers aviation security solutions at 100 airports in over 45 countries and has close working relationships with many of the world’s airport operators and airlines. In Canada, G4S provides passenger and baggage screening services at 22 airports in the Pacific region in partnership with the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority. At Billy Bishop Airport in Toronto, G4S provides a highly trained team of security personnel.

G4S employs nearly 10,000 people across Canada and hired a number of military veterans to manage the contract. The company is committed to hiring and retaining ex-military personnel, supporting their successful transition from life in the military to becoming a valued part of the civilian workforce. G4S has received the Military Employment Transition Program’s Military Employer Partner Certification in Canada.
