G4S Guam security supervisor Jason Leon Guerrero receives life saving award
On Sunday, February 9, 2025, while patrolling the poolside at a customer hotel property, G4S Security Supervisor Jason Leon Guerrero spotted a male individual acting suspiciously near the hotel's beachside restaurant. Following his training, he cautiously approached the individual, suspecting that the individual was under the influence and subsequently that he was concealing a weapon (machete). A by-passer confirmed that the individual had earlier been seen brandishing the machete at the beach area.
Jason, understanding the seriousness of the situation, reported to Control and contacted the Guam Police Department while he calmly approached the individual to de-escalate and guide him away from the hotel's guests and other patrons. Jason was able to disarm the individual safely and restrain him without injury. With timely assistance from the rest of the G4S Security Team and arrival of the officers from the Guam Police Department (GPD), the individual was subsequently arrested. His actions during this incident exemplify the highest standards of professionalism expected from our G4S security officers. His decisiveness, calmness and training prepared him to respond accordingly and protect our customers and their guests from harm. The customer’s Director of Security and Executive Management, expressed their sincere gratitude for Jason’s response during this incident.

Jason has been a reliable and high-performing member of our G4S hotel security team for three years. He worked his way up from an entry-level security officer, and because of his demonstrated consistency, reliability and professionalism he was later promoted as Security Supervisor.
He was nominated by peers and selected as the Security Officer of Month for March 2025 for hotel property, and more recently on April 25th, 2025, Jason was also nominated and was awarded the GHRA’s (Guam Hotel & Restaurant Association) Life Saving Award for Q1 2025 held at the GHRA’s quarterly membership meeting and Beyond The Call of Duty Awarding Luncheon Event. Jason was the selected awardee amongst 3 other nominees for the Life-Saving Category.
