Unique recognition for Community colleague in the UK
Ian Williams is part of the G4S Community team, whose work has had a transformative effect on the treatment and support available for drug and alcohol users touched by the criminal justice system in South Wales.
The judging panel for the Butler Trust Awards – often described as the Oscars of the sector – was so impressed with Ian’s achievements, they singled him out for recognition, even though his role sits outside of their criteria for an award.
They added: “The Trustees wanted to recognise your clearly outstanding work in what is, of course, a closely related field.
“That’s something they’ve never done before, but they wanted to make an exception in your case.”
