G4S plays an important role in society. We make a difference by helping people to operate in a safe and secure environment where they can thrive and prosper. 

We recognise that the sustainable growth of our business depends on our unwavering commitment to good corporate governance, the development and engagement of our people, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, and the sound partnerships that we build with our customers and our local communities. Corporate social responsibility is therefore an integral part of our everyday work. We take our responsibility to “secure your world” very seriously.

Our approach to CSR is wide-ranging and focuses on initiatives that make a marked difference in the upliftment and betterment of our people and the communities we work in. Our primary CSI focus area is the development and support of the youth, mainly through education, healthcare and development through sport initiatives.  

When identifying corporate social investment (CSI) partnership opportunities, G4S seeks to:
Identify community projects or organisations that reflect the interests and concerns of our employees and our business.
Align projects with our core CSI focus areas of health, education, welfare and support of Africa’s youth.
Make a demonstrable difference in the lives of the people we touch. Projects must therefore be sustainable and measurable.
Opportunities must capture the hearts of our employees and customers. Active engagement and participation is key in any initiative we support.
Our CSR initiatives are aligned with our business strategy and our efforts to continually engage with customers and other key stakeholder groups.

G4S is resolutely committed to provide its entire staff the best possible work environment that fosters personal growth of each employee, a guarantee of the quality of service delivered to customers. We are totally committed to the safety, health and development of skills and talents of our employees.

We also initiated a special program to reward our agents entitled 'Guard of the Month' to encourage and praise the most deserving guards who has performed acts of great bravery in the line of duty. A special bonus is assigned to each recipient of this award.

In addition, to strengthen ties and social cohesion within  society, G4S has supported the establishment of various associations including:

- Initiating a sports club -consisting of G4S and non-G4S employees
- Association of “G4S Pouring women”  - A G4S initiative that promotes gender in the security guard function

Our company has been recognized as a Top Employer by the CRF institute in South Africa for the 5th consecutive year in a row.

G4S Côte d’Ivoire is involved in many community upliftment projects, including :

G4S is a committed supporter of the National Blood Transfusion Centre. We inspire our employees to donate blood through many of our organized company blood drives.
G4S is passionate about promoting the uplitment and education of our countries’ youth.  We have therefore initiated an award ceremony to reward the children of our employees who are performing well in school. 
We care about our environment and therefore we engage in many environmental initiatives with our staff, including our tree planting initiative.
