Isle of Man contract
G4S Assessment Services, part of G4S, the leading provider of security and outsourcing services, has been awarded the licence to provide visitor accommodation and ‘Taste’ quality assurance services to the Isle of Man Government.
Under the three-year contract, which starts on 1 April , a team of 11 G4S assessors will be responsible for rating the quality of over 400 hotels, guest-houses and hostels, as well as more than 40 restaurants, cafes and coffee shops every year. The contract includes an option to extend for a further two years.
G4S has been working with the Isle of Man since 2005, provided star ratings to the island’s accommodation providers and has helped the Manx Government to assess ‘Taste’, a membership scheme aimed at improving the quality and service of food and drink on the island. G4S has also been involved with assessing the National Accessibility Scheme which helps tourist operators improve and promote their level of accessibility to visitors.
Guy Levoir, Director of Operations at G4S Assessment Services, said:
“We’re truly thrilled to be providing these services to the Isle of Man for another three years. We enjoy a fantastic working relationship and we are committed to strengthening our partnership further in the quest to raise quality standards for tourists visiting the island.”
Geoff Corkish MBE, MHK, Political Member for the Isle of Man Department of Economic Development with responsibility for Tourism, said:
“I congratulate G4S on winning the licence to provide visitor accommodation and taste quality assurance services to the Isle of Man Government and look forward to us continuing to drive up quality standards.”
