G4S Integrated Services (G4S), the leading provider of integrated facilities management (FM) and specialist support services for critical environments, has been awarded a multi-million pound contract to provide total facilities management to defence and security specialist General Dynamics UK for the next five years.

From this month G4S will operate six General Dynamics sites in Wales, East Sussex, London, Hampshire and the Midlands, providing a wide range of services including fleet management, security, cleaning, catering, maintenance, waste and energy management.  Thirty General Dynamics UK personnel have transferred to G4S under the new contract.

Bob Taylor, Group Managing Director of G4S Integrated Services said:

“We are very pleased that we have this opportunity to work with the one of the world’s largest defence and security contractors. Facilities management is one of our core businesses and with our solid understanding of the defence and security industry, we are confident we can deliver an excellent service.”

Tom Sanderson, Vice President, General Dynamics UK said:

“Following a detailed review and tendering process, we selected G4S Integrated Services as we believe they will deliver the best service to our sites.  We are looking forward to working in partnership with them to deliver a world class facilities management service."

G4S is one of the leading FM providers in the UK, with a well-established presence in the public sector, where it delivers FM services for UK Government departments and agencies, including the Met Office and secure establishments. Earlier this year the company began providing FM services across more than 340 court buildings for the Ministry of Justice. The company also services 200 hospitals and health centres and 34 schools.
