G4S to take role in securing G8 conference

G4S Events, the UK’s leading event security company, has been selected to support the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) at the G8 Summit being held at Lough Erne in Northern Ireland.

During the Summit in June, G4S will have 450 experienced employees delivering a range of specialised security solutions, including stewarding, monitoring of site perimeters and securing access to venues.  

G4S has successfully protected a number of international summits and events on behalf of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office over the years, including the 2005 G8 Summit in Gleneagles and the G20 Summit in London. 

The G8 Summit will be one of more than 25 major political, sporting and leisure events which G4S will be supporting over this summer including The Championships Wimbledon, the Silverstone British Grand Prix, the Ashes test at Old Trafford, the T in the Park festival in Scotland and multiple concerts across the United Kingdom for bands including Bon Jovi and the Stone Roses.
