London Poppy Day

G4S provides support to the Royal British Legion on London Poppy Day
G4S, Poppy Day

As part of London Poppy Day, G4S is helping to support the Royal British Legion, providing secure vehicles and volunteers, as well as logistical help, to transport and count the money collected by 2,500 uniformed personnel, veterans and volunteers stationed across London.

G4S employees from across the region have volunteered to help with the effort. G4S have provided secure vehicles, which are covering 10 different routes and visiting a total of 50 tube stations across London, to collect the money throughout the day and transport it safely back to the hub, located this year in South London. These vehicles are managed by volunteers from the G4S operational team, who have planned and are overseeing the logistics of each vehicle on the day. Volunteers from G4S and the Royal British Legion are also being stationed at the hub to facilitate the counting of the money.

Peter Neden, Interim Regional President G4S UK & Ireland said, “We are delighted to be able to play a part in supporting the Royal British Legion at London Poppy Day this year and look forward to working with them on the day. G4S takes great pride in its relationship and work with the UK Armed Forces and will work hard to ensure the day is a success.”

Last year the Royal British Legion raised a phenomenal £1million and is hoping to raise the same again this year.
