G4S FM on pole position at the Isle of Man TT

More than 60 G4S FM staff have had a taste of life in the fast lane, with an adrenalin-packed fortnight ensuring the smooth-running of the Isle of Man TT, one of the most demanding road races in the world, which ended on Friday (12 June).

The FM team provided security, car park stewarding, general spectator stewarding, paddock management, road closure support and cleaning, as part of a three-year contract for the international motorcycle racing event, from 30 May to 12 June 2015. G4S FM has had a relationship with the road race for more than 25 years.

G4S FM has also managed the transport, security and safety of the prestigious TT trophies – not only at the event itself, delivering the trophies to pit lanes and presentations – but all year round, escorting them to various exhibitions.

The Isle of Man has a population of some 86,000; the TT brings another 40,000 visitors just for the main TT weekend, which obviously brings with it huge logistical challenges.

“We have a strong track record within G4S as an expert in providing essential support for motorsport.  Supporting the Isle of Man TT, this most prestigious motorsports event, is one of our most demanding, and enjoyable, challenges in the year,” said Stuart McCudden, G4S Managing Director on the Isle of Man.

“The course is 37.7 miles long, all on public roads closed for racing.  We support the road closures and provide a range of FM services along the entire route. I can’t think of another FM relationship like it. We are a true one-stop-shop for the race organisers,” he added.
