Under the plea agreement, G4S Belgium has agreed to plead guilty to a one-count Sherman Act violation in relation to bid co-ordination, in particular on two specific tenders for contracts for the provision of services in Belgium. As a result of the plea agreement, G4S Belgium will pay a fine of $15 million which reflects a 30% discount for G4S Belgium’s timely and full cooperation with the DOJ investigation.

By entering into the plea agreement, G4S Belgium has secured a full and final settlement of this matter with the DOJ. G4S Belgium continues to cooperate with the Belgian Competition Authority.
A spokesperson for G4S Belgium said:

“The unacceptable behaviour which led to the offences outlined in the plea agreement is completely against the company’s values and standards and is not tolerated anywhere within G4S. We have strengthened our policies, practices and controls to ensure that our business is always conducted in a manner which is consistent with our values.”
