Pension Scheme

Welcome to the G4S Pension Scheme website

The G4S Pension Scheme is G4S's defined benefit (final salary) pension scheme and is almost entirely closed to future accrual. The content of this page is determined by the trustee.

Current and new employees are automatically enrolled into the G4S Personal Pension Plan.

The G4S Pension Scheme is made up of 3 sections:

  • The Securicor section (which was the Securicor Group Pension Scheme)
  • The GSL section (which was the GSL Pension Scheme)
  • The Group 4 section (which was the Group 4 Pension Scheme)

Request for Information from Capita

The trustee of the G4S Pension scheme has asked Capita to write to selected members to ask them to confirm certain details. They would very much appreciate it if members who receive this letter from Capita could respond to the request. We want to reassure members that this is a genuine request on behalf of the Trustee.

Acquisition of G4S plc by Allied Universal

As you may be aware, on 5th April 2021 Allied Universal announced its acquisition of G4S plc ("G4S"). This announcement followed a formal offer from Allied Universal to purchase G4S, which was recommended by the G4S Board and accepted by G4S shareholders.

As Trustee of the Scheme, we entered into discussions with Allied Universal shortly after it announced an interest in acquiring G4S, in order to understand the impact on the Scheme and to look after the interests of Scheme members. After extensive discussions we negotiated a comprehensive pensions agreement with Allied Universal which we believe represents a very positive outcome for the Scheme. The purpose of this letter is to provide further information regarding the agreement reached.

Allied Universal update

As you may have seen from the press, Allied Universal has announced that enough shareholders have accepted its takeover offer for G4S plc and the takeover of G4S by Allied Universal is expected to complete shortly. For information, GardaWorld dropped out of the bidding.

The Trustee of the G4S Pension Scheme had already agreed a funding and support package for the Scheme with Allied Universal, to be implemented in the event that its offer was successful, and the Trustee is now engaged in discussions with Allied Universal regarding the implementation of this package.  We will provide a more detailed update shortly

G4S Pension Scheme (“the Scheme”) – Agreements with GardaWorld and Allied Universal

As you may be aware, G4S has received takeover offers from both GardaWorld and Allied Universal. Since we wrote to members in October 2020, we have been actively engaged in discussions with both parties to understand their proposals for the Scheme should either company succeed in acquiring G4S.
