Port Phillip Prison Finalists at National Awards
From the very beginning, employee feedback has been a driving force behind the iCare program. Employee input was gathered through surveys, town hall meetings, and Health and Safety Representative (HSR) meetings. This ongoing communication has allowed us to continuously improve and expand the program offerings based on employee’s needs.
What is iCare?
iCare is a comprehensive health and wellbeing program focused on improving both physical and mental health outcomes for PPP employees. Developed through a collaborative effort that incorporated employee feedback, the program offers a diverse range of initiatives, including:
- iCare leadership training
- On-site psychologist
- Health assessment coaching
- Brain health and resilience training (re-wiring your brain)
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Bi-monthly promotions
- Flu vaccinations
- Gym memberships
- Peer support program
- I am Woman Project (provision of free feminine hygiene products in all bathrooms)
The program has demonstrably improved the health and well-being of PPP employees. Within just 14 months of implementation, we've observed:
- A significant reduction in the nature and severity of workplace injuries.
- A noticeable decline in employee turnover.
- Increased employee satisfaction with health and wellbeing initiatives.
Winners will be presented at an Awards Gala in Sydney in August 2024. We are incredibly proud to be a national finalist and thanks to everyone involved in the program!
