Celebrating Achievement at the British Security Awards

With nine regional winners progressing to the national finals on 21st June, G4S is celebrating some outstanding performances in 2022.

Organised by the British Security Industry Association, the British Security Awards celebrate the achievements, acts of bravery and innovations made by members of the UK’s security industry.

With the finalists split across four categories, these awards are deserved recognition for the nominees who have collectively demonstrated the G4S values. Congratulations to each of our finalists, listed below:- 

Category Nomination: Best Team  

G4S Events

This award is recognition for the work that our teams performed following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Our teams worked tirelessly in collaboration with the Scottish Government, the City of Edinburgh Council, Police Scotland and Arcadis - the team responsible for the ceremonial events in Scotland. 

Category Nomination: Service to the Customer   

Ashley Manners 

Ashley is a security officer at an NHS Trust. Upon panic alarms sounding, Ashley managed to secure safety for staff and patients when an aggressive patient began rampaging through the Trust. Whilst acting so bravely in appeasing the aggressive patient, Ashley sustained stabbing injuries. 

James Gifford 

James is an intelligence analyst. Through Jimmy’s diligent investigative work, our client - a leading player in the automotive industry - was able to recover £780k  of stolen goods between November 2022 and January 2023.

Financial Services Provider - Bishopsgate  

This team combine front of house skills with security to deliver a professional security service. The team often provide the first experience of the bank for the visitor and support high profile visitors and VIPs at several times through the year.

Category Nomination: Outstanding Act

Roy Jory

Roy provided outstanding medical care to an individual who suffered an emergency at a Job Centre. Roy supported the individual until an ambulance arrived.

Jade Dyer & Megan McLetchie

Jade and Megan were commended for their actions after appeasing a dangerous individual who was attempting to cause harm to themselves and others. 

Neil Logan 

Neil assisted an upset female during an escalating security incident. 

Category Nomination: Security Manager of the Year

Mohammed Banaris

This is deserved recognition for Mo for providing expert security leadership to a major sports venue where nearly 300k spectators have securely passed through under Mo’s stewardship.

Martin Smith

Martin is a Duty Manager for a major financial services client and regularly goes above and beyond to deliver an exceptional service.
