The 80-strong team received an “Aiming High” accolade, which recognises excellence and improvement, from the Hospital’s Chief Executive, Nick Carver.  Mr Carver, on presenting the award, told the team:

“You were nominated for constantly and visibly working hard.  Your team are always enthusiastic and friendly with staff and patients alike.  Your work is vital for how patients and staff perceive our hospital and how we control infections.  I know you work incredibly hard in this important work, which may sometimes be overlooked by some.  You are a true asset to the Trust, so thank you.”

G4S contract manager at the QEII hospital, Carol Massam, said:

“This was a great surprise for the team and we are delighted with this award, which recognises our contribution to patient care at the hospital.  All of our staff work incredibly hard to maintain standards and this award is testament to the care they show for patients and hospital staff every day.”
